Naomi Osaka Withdraws From The French Open Over Her Mental Health

Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the ongoing French Open in Paris to deal with issues concerning her mental health.

Recall Naomi Osaka was fined 15,000 dollars over the weekend after she refused to show up for the mandatory press conference following her first-round win at the French Open stating she’s putting her mental health first.

Just after a few hours of the controversial move, the World’s Highest Paid Female Tennis star has made a told decision by announcing her withdrawal from the French Open to deal with her mental health.

In a very well detailed statement issued out by the star on her various social media platforms, Naomi revealed she never wanted to be a distraction at the tournament and that her timing for her withdrawal is not the best but to let every concentrate on what’s going on, she believes is the best thing to do now.

She wrote “I think now the best thing for the tournament, the other players, and my well-being is that I withdraw so that everyone can get back to focusing on the tennis going on in Paris. I never wanted to be a distraction, and I accept that my timing was not ideal and the message could have been clearer.”

Naomi also stated that her mental health is very important to her and revealed how she has been battling with depression since winning the US Open in 2018, “The truth is that I have suffered long bouts of depression since the US Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping with that
